Slot machines are one of the most liked games to gamble on at casinos. On any night, count on most of the slot machines to be packed with enthusiastic gamblers. They come in a variety of wagering levels; some only cost five cents a play while others can cost upwards of $20 a play. Although slot games are a betting tool, a number of folks are intimidated by the big money table games and prefer the delight and thrill of a good slot machine game.
The earliest mechanical slot machine was constructed in Eighteen Ninety Five and was called the "Liberty Bell." Created by a California machinist, the initial slot machines had three reels with diamonds, hearts, spades and a cracked Liberty Bell painted on each. Prior to this invention, the name "slot machines" was used to characterize different kinds of vending machines.
The initial widespread use of slot machines in US casinos is attributed to the Flamingo Hotel, Sin City in and around 1940. The head of the betting house had initially thought the slot machines would be awesome to intrigue apathetic wives of some of the biggest high roller customers of the betting house. Little did he know that slot machines would be an enjoyable activity for nearly everyone and that the enticement would extend further than the apathetic wives. Now, it is said, the slots comprise in excess of two-thirds of all revenue brought in by U.S. casinos.
Slot machine games beyond a doubt have a rich history. From the small creation of the late-1800’s to the million dollar sector of today, slot machines will continue to develop in universal appeal.
